Description
The collection began with a scrapbook full of cutout Bible studies from
The Christian Fundamentals Magazine, many from the New Testament course offered by Hadden in each issue, but also including many of its “Questions and Answers”
section initialed H.N.B. The scrapbook also includes typed and handwritten notes and a small number of mailings sent out by
the League as well as a two page manuscript, “How the Holy Bible Came to Us,” by Gerald B. Winrod. To this scrapbook we have
added two pamphlets by Hadden and some information on the League and its publication. The David Allan Hubbard Library also
holds a number of fascicles of
The Christian Fundamentals Magazine.
Background
Robert Acheson Hadden was a founding member of the Christian Fundamentals League of Los Angeles. In January of 1928 he, together
with Howard N. Bunce, Ralph E. Isbell, and J. Clyde Stillion founded The Christian Fundamentals Magazine, a response to the felt need of the era for sound Biblical teaching.
