Background
The Women's Relief Corps (WRC) was the women's auxiliary of the Grand Army of the Republic. It was established (1883) as a social, civic and patriotic organization to foster social improvements and to generate and sustain community appreciation for the sacrifices of those patriots who had died to preserve the Union. Chapter #105 was located in West Los Angeles, or Sawtelle, California.
