Description
Walt Phillips, considered a legend by many involved in the small press world, created compelling poems and drawings that appeared in numerous small press publications, including The Massachusetts Review; Prairie Schooner; Yellow Brick Road; Pearl; Wormwood Review; and Chiron Review. Other notable contributors to some of these journals included writer Charles Bukowski and poet Lyn Lifshin. Issues of these and many other journals in which Phillips’ work was published comprise this collection of over 250 titles.
Background
Walt Phillips was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts in 1937 and eventually moved to California, where he died in 2013. While working as a newspaper journalist, photographer, and columnist, Phillips created hundreds of poems and drawings going back to 1959.
