Mullins (1860-1928) served as Professor of Theology and then President at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. This massive collection of 2044 microfiche preserves his papers. A theological moderate, author of Axioms of Religion (1908),Baptist Beliefs (1912) and The Christian Religion in its Doctrinal Expression (1917) he led the Southern Baptists to adopt their first confessional statement (1925) and in their rejection of Darwin’s evolutionary theory, but insisted that the Bible was authoritative in “religious opinions” only.
