The Mark Guerrero Papers contain materials related to this musician and to Chicano music history. Currently it contains photographs, recordings and promotional materials related to his performances from 1963 to 2003, photographs of Mark and the Escorts, Mark Guerrero and the Second Generation Band as well as of his music legend father Lalo Guerrero.

Mark Guerrero grew up in East Los Angeles. He attended James A. Garfield High School, East Los Angeles College, and earned a B.A. in Chicano Studies from Cal State Los Angeles. He is the son of the late singer/songwriter Lalo Guerrero and brother of producer Dan Guerrero. At age 13 he began to perform in the rock band Mark and the Escorts. His recording and composing career continued to flourish both with his bands and individually.
