Description
Collection includes memos, minutes, reports, correspondence, and
background materials from Diamond's work on the ASSU Task Force on Tenure and Teaching
Quality (1976) and the Subcommittee on Female Admissions of the Committee on
Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid (1971-72), of which he was the chairman. The
charge to this committee was to assess the impact of admitting significantly more female
students to Stanford.
Background
Larry Diamond received all of his degrees from Stanford University: BA in 1974, an MA in
1978, and a PhD in sociology in 1980. He taught sociology at Vanderbilt University from
1980 to 1985 before returning to Stanford as a fellow at the Hoover Institution, where
he is now a senior fellow as well as a professor of political science and sociology by
courtesy.
