as a student. Includes drafts of papers, lectures and books; research notes and files; conference materials and organizational
files; class files; minutes, reports, and other records pertaining to administrative duties at Stanford; and video tapes of
his Stanford lectures (1982).
Rupert Miller taught at Stanford University from 1959 until his death in 1986; he held a joint appointment between the Department
of Statistics and the School of Medicine (Division of Biostatistics), where he served as a consultant to researchers on data
analysis. He was chair of the statistics department from 1969-1972 and received one of the first dean's awards for superior
teaching in 1977.
