Description
The collection comprises publications of the University of California, Irvine, School of Humanities and its departments and programs. It includes promotional brochures, event fliers, manuals, newsletters, course descriptions, and student literary journals.
Background
The Division of Humanities at the University of California, Irvine was founded in 1965 with Departments of English, Foreign Languages and Literatures, History, and Philosophy. The name changed to the School of Humanities in 1968. Over time new departments were formed and new majors added.
