Description
Stephen Kandel is a prolific television writer whose credits include television and motion pictures. The collection consists
of television and motion picture scripts including television programs such as
Sea Hunt; television movies such as
Broken Promises; and motion pictures such as
Battle of the Coral Sea.
Background
Stephen Kandel was born in New York City on Apr. 30, 1927 and received his BA from Darthmouth College in 1950. From the 1960s
on Kandel has participated in many aspects of the entertainment industry including producing and writing for both film and
television. A few of his most notable credits include creating the ABC-TV Iron Horse television series, serving as president of Dagonet Productions, Inc. as well as producing the Mike Hammer and MacGyver television series. His numerous author credits include television, TV movies, and motion pictures including the pilot episode
of Star Trek, Daktari, Broken Promises, and Chamber of Horrors. He is the recipient of many awards including the Mystery Writers of America Edgar Alan Poe award and the Writers Guild of
America Humanities award.
