The folder includes the biographical account of Alexander Badlam, Senior's life during his voyage to California in 1849. It
is a typed version from May 27th, 1935 of an originally handwritten letter.
Alexander Badlam was born in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1849 he embarked on a voyage to California and back to Boston on the
bark Corsair. During his voyage, which took about a year, Alexander Badlam, Sr. rode on the Oro, a British whaling ship called
the Colloony, and two unnamed steamers.
