Carolyn See (1934- ) was a professor in the UCLA Department of English. Her published books include: Mothers, daughters (1977), and Rhine maidens (1981). The collection consists of correspondence, manuscripts and manuscript drafts, clippings, books, and printed materials related to Carolyn See's literary career.

See was born January 13, 1934 in Pasadena, California; BA, Los Angeles State College of Applied Arts and Sciences (now California State Los Angeles), 1957; MA (1961) and Ph.D (1963), UCLA; published books include: The rest is done with mirrors (1970), Blue money (1973), Mothers, daughters (1977), and Rhine maidens (1981); co-wrote Two schools of thought (1991) with John Espey; taught at UCLA, Department of English; has also written collaborative books with John Espy and her daughter Lisa See Kendall under the joint pseudonym, Monica Highland: Lotus Land (1983), 110 Shanghai road (1986), Golden days (1986), Greetings from Southern California (1988) and Precious cargo (1990).
