This collection comprises publications created for the Orange County, California Centennial Year celebration in 1988-1989, including programs, brochures, magazines, and newsletters.

In January 1889 Representative Eugene E. Edwards introduced a bill in the California State Assembly to create a new county, Orange County, in the southern region of what was then Los Angeles County. The bill passed in the Assembly in February and the Senate in March, and the act was signed by Governor Robert W. Waterman on March 11, 1889. Orange County's government became operational on August 1, 1889.
