Description
The collection contains property appraisal reports created and collected by
Albert A. Izmirian. The appraisal reports include typed appraisals, handwritten
notes, photographs, maps, and other data referring to various properties throughout
the Los Angeles area. .
Background
Albert A. Izmirian (1921-2009) was born in Los Angeles and received a marketing
degree from UCLA. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions but joined the Navy at the
outbreak of World War II and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. He played professional
football for the Los Angeles Bulldogs until 1947, when he became a real estate
appraiser for the city of Los Angeles. He eventually became Assistant Chief
Appraiser of Los Angeles County, and from 1967-1974 worked as State Inheritance Tax
Appraiser.
Restrictions
In order to quote from, publish, or reproduce any of the manuscripts or visual
materials, researchers must obtain formal permission from the office of the
Library Director. In most instances, permission is given by the Huntington as
owner of the physical property rights only, and researchers must also obtain
permission from the holder of the literary rights. In some instances, the
Huntington owns the literary rights, as well as the physical property rights.
