Hermann Becks (1897-1962) was born in Wesel am Rhine, Germany. He is known for his research and publications in dentistry and experimental biology. The collection consists of correspondence and printed material related to Becks's career as a dentist and research scientist.

Hermann Becks was born in Wesel am Rhine, Germany, in 1897; received medical training at University of Rostock in Germany, and DDS from University of California at Berkeley, 1933; known for his research and publications in dentistry and experimental biology; chairman, Oral Biology Department at University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry; awarded Fauchard Medal for contributions to oral medicine, 1958.
